The Story Behind the Mark

From Make-Believe to the Brand

Tanks are fascinating machines... This is a maudlin exposé to the spirit and concept of tanks in the abstract.

A long-time fascination of Kason's as a child rooted well before violence, war, and aggression were recognized as clear and present dangers to the modern world.

Tanks were seen as cool toys to play with and bang around in make-believe worlds.

A spark of that playful attachment made it through to adulthood and nested into Wealth Battle's logo.

Tank Doctrine

Defense & Offense

The same machine can protect, deter, reposition, and strike. Its purpose changes with the situation.

Function 01

Defense

Deterrent. Demoralizing. Defensive.

Armor Active

Through their thick armor, tanks increase the defense of those within.

They allow you to cross dangerous areas that would otherwise damage or destroy those left unprotected.

They can serve as mobile, portable, and nearly impenetrable cover for infantry.

Some tanks are equipped with reactive armor. When struck by a rocket or missile designed to destroy the tank, the armor creates its own secondary explosion, pushing the incoming payload away from the crew compartment.

The M1 Abrams can weigh more than 68 tons—roughly 136,000 pounds—and travel at more than 40 miles per hour across rough terrain. That alone can have a demoralizing effect on an attacking force.

As a deterrent, few machines are as effective at shutting down a roadway. When a tank is sitting at the end of the street and you are not welcome, choosing another route becomes the sensible option.

Tanks can also deploy smoke to obscure visual and thermal lines of sight while moving toward a more advantageous position.

When smoke munitions are depleted, some drivers can create a dense smoke screen by introducing diesel fuel into the turbine exhaust.

“The greatest victory is that which requires no battle.” — Sun Tzu, The Art of War
Function 02

Offense

Have cannon. Will travel.

Target Acquired

Where deterrence and defense will not do, tanks carry the means to act directly.

One of the most striking features of a tank is the massive rifled cannon mounted on a rotating turret.

Have a problem on the hillside that can only be solved through high-explosive ordnance? Ready, aim, fire. The problem—and often a meaningful portion of the hillside—is gone.

Tanks may also carry secondary armaments, but consider the main cannon for scale.

Imagine a porcupine able to launch its high-explosive quills roughly 11 football fields with more than 90% accuracy, while traveling at Mach 5 and running more than 40 miles per hour.

It would quickly become a mammal that very few creatures were willing to threaten.

Crew Doctrine

Crew

Teamwork makes the dream work.

To harness the full power of being able to move where you want, when you want, and how you want, you need a good team. This is where the ties to Wealth Battle really kick in.

Role ID 01 Decision Authority
Situational Command

Commander

Scanning 360 degrees for threats, underwriting danger, and prioritizing tasks. You are the only qualified commander in your Wealth Battle. You are the only one who can truly assess the tactical situation of your personal financial life.

Role ID 02 Offensive Capability
Precision and Execution

Gunner

Measuring distances, assessing angles of fire, calculating ballistic trajectories, factoring wind speeds, and ultimately pulling the trigger. In Wealth Battle, this is similar to learning from someone who has increased their earning capability, knows how to charge more in a business, or can structure a deal to generate cash flow.

Role ID 03 Continuous Readiness
Research and Resupply

Loader

The loader keeps the munitions flowing. With shells to the main cannon weighing around 40 pounds, it is an important responsibility to keep one in the chamber. In Wealth Battle, this resembles someone constantly researching the next improvement to implement in their budget or learning better ways to evaluate opportunities.

Role ID 04 Mobility and Navigation
Mobility and Risk Avoidance

Driver

Someone has to drive this hunk of steel. The driver in Wealth Battle seeks to avoid obstacles, looks further down the path, points out threats they have encountered, and shares how those threats were diffused or mitigated.

Without all four positions, the unit is not combat effective. The most you could hope for is climbing into the driver’s seat, turning tail, and regrouping.

Crew Effectiveness

Built to Withstand Circumstances

With a competent crew, the statistical likelihood of death inside a tank in modern combat is similar to that of being struck by lightning. Wealth Battle aims to build a resilient community that is not pushed around by circumstances.

That is why there are community events every week:

  • Budgeting accountability groups Defense
  • Building opportunity funds Refuel
  • Deal consulting Offense
  • Networking Crew
  • Financial games Training
